Animation Contest

An Animation Contest was organized during the Metrion Animation Film Festival, The theme was “The Rape of Europe” and anyone wishing to participate could do so by making post-it animations and sending them according to specifications until the 22nd of October, 2009. These animations were judged by animation teachers and directors.

The winners were:

1st Place: Murányi Matza Teréz

2nd Place: Kassay Réka and Hermann László

3rd Place: Hátszegi Zsolt and Groos Zselyke

Special prize for original implementation of the theme: Cătălina Moş

Special prize for original graphics: Csiszér Attila and Sánta Dénes

Mr. Victor Antonescu, the animation-director also gave prizes according to the quality of  animations, to Hátszegi Zsolt and Groos Zselyke, Kassay Réka and Hermann László, and Zoltányi Levente.

The Metrion Prizes were awarded to Patrovits Tamás and Radu Vasile Igazság, for their activities done for the animation life of Oradea.

MAFF 2009 – 4th Metrion Animation Film Festival

Location: Oradea

The MAFF is an open workshop organized for the fourth time in Oradea, for everyone wishing to express their artistic selves with contemporary branches of art. Our primary goal was to diversify the artistic life on a local level, in Oradea and on a regional one, in Partium and Transylvania, mainly by helping young (but not solely) artists wishing to get known have their debut. Secondly, we organized an enjoyable, assessable screening of animations in a friendly atmosphere. Our association was a partner organizer of this festival.

Kick the Ball for All

Type of program: Protest against Racism and Discrimination

Time: 24.10.2009

Location: Oradea, Iuliu Bodola Stadium

Participants: 20 youngsters of various ethnicities

Main supporter: FARE Action Week Against Racism and Discrimination

This year we have taken part for the first time in the 10th FARE Action Week – Season 2009/10. We did this by organizing a smaller protest at the FC Bihor – FC Baia Mare football match where we had banners and wore T-shirts. We talked to the supporters about the cause, handed out T-shirts and afterwards we watched the movie “Hooligans” and had a discussion on the topic of racism.

The Green Future of the European Countryside?! Learning about the Nederlands Together

Type of program: 1.1 Youth Exchange

Time: 09.10.2009 – 16.10.2009

Location: Wageningen, Amsterdam, The Hague, Brusseles, Arnhem, and their surroundings

Participating countries: the Nederlands and Romania (17-17 participants)

Main supporter: Agenţia Natională pentru Programe Comunitare în Domeniul Educaţiei şi Formării Profesionale

This was the continuation of the project held in July and this time, our group went to the Nederlands where we got to know the agricultural, landscape planning activities and the politics towards agriculture. In the same time, we gained insight into the lifestyle of the young students and their mentality. We also focused on learning and visting the Capital of the country and the European Parliament in Belgium.

The VIIIth Summer University from the Carpathian Basin

Type of program: Summer University

Time: 11.08.2009 – 16.08.2009

Location: Oradea

Each year, our association is a partner organizer of the Summer University from the Carpathian Basin. (www.kmnye.ro) This year we also took on this role and we helped in the organizing and the implementation of the program

The Green Future of the European Countryside?! Learning about Romania Together

Type of program: 1.1 Youth Exchange

Time: 01.07.2009 – 11.07.2009

Location: Oradea, Arad and their surroundings

Participating countries: the Nederland’s and Romania (17-17 participants)

Main supporter: Agenţia Natională pentru Programe Comunitare în Domeniul Educaţiei şi Formării Profesionale

During the program, the young participants got to know the day to day life of the Romanian countryside especially the agricultural activities and the people living there. In the same time, they gained insight into rural households, small, medium and large businesses. We also focused on sustainable agriculture and bioagriculture

Global challenges: Youth Reflection

Type of program: 1.1 Youth Exchange

Time: 05.06.09 – 12.06.09

Location: Oradea and its surroundings

Participating Countries: Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania (8-8 participants/country)

Main supporter: Agenţia Natională pentru Programe Comunitare în Domeniul Educaţiei şi Formării Profesionale

During the exchange the young participants had free discussions and shared their views on alternative energy resources, global issues threatening the world and about sustainable development, all in informal and a free atmosphere.

MOVE

Type of program: 1.1 Youth Exchange

Time: 09.05.09 – 17.05.09

Location: Oradea and its surroundings

Participating Countries: Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia and Romania (8-8 participants/country)

The one week exchange had as goal the popularization of sport activities and having a healthy lifestyle, in a multicultural milieu where intercultural dialogue was also present.

Type of program: 1.1 Youth Exchange

Time: 22.04.2009 – 01.05.2009

Location: Isle of Lefkas, Greece

Participating countries: France, Romania, Italy, Poland, Spain and Greece (5-5 participants/country)

The program brought together young people with the goal of exploring the themes of tolerance and solidarity with the help of a special photography technique (camera obscura), activity which also evoked intercultural dialogue and included young people with fewer opportunities.
